Veronika Malaj is a Global Peacemaking Intern for Intersections International and a graduating senior at John Jay College for Criminal Justice, focusing on International Criminal Justice. She is also working for Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a police officer and is a highly qualified member of their emergency response team. Malaj aspires to become an Asylum Officer to protect those living in fear of returning to their native country (typically refugees) and those facing persecution due to political or religious reasons. Malaj speaks both Albanian and English. Her goal is to change the way many civilians view law enforcement, through her expertise, experiences and profession, establishing that not all police officers are "bad," and that the majority genuinely care about the community and all individuals, no matter the race, sex, culture or religion.
