On Thursday, June 13th, Seton Hall University and the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations honored Intersections International’s C. Eduardo Vargas Toro at the 2013 Many Are One Alumni Awards Gala. C. Eduardo was presented with the Alumni Service Award for his leadership in international diplomacy and his ongoing commitment to Seton Hall University.
As Director of Advocacy and Public Policy, and Representative to the United Nations for Intersections International, Vargas Toro applies expertise in global affairs, issues of conflict, and refugee crises management to promote peace in regions around the world. He is responsible for a range of advocacy and policy initiatives for Intersections, including UN-NGO initiatives, the Iraqi Voices Amplification Project, U.S.-Pakistani Interreligious Consortium (UPIC), and participating in global forums on cross-cultural dialogue. He currently serves as an Elected Director to the NGO/DPI Executive Committee to the United Nations.
“I was very surprised to be awarded such a prestigious honor by my Alma Mater! The fact that it is in recognition of the work that we carry out at Intersections International, is an enormous testament to the need for us to continue to build bridges of understanding at a global level. I am very blessed to be so deeply associated with both Seton Hall and Intersections.” remarked Vargas Toro.
