Muhammad Faraz Husain hails from southern Punjab and grew up in Karachi, Pakistan. He's primarily interested in peace-building, gender justice and interfaith harmony, but aims to achieve these goals in a Pakistani context through a critique of local patriarchal and class-based structures. Husain has previously worked for a USAID project in Islamabad (research and development solutions), The Agh Khan University's public health project in rehri goth village of Karachi, and for a UN-funded project with Karachi Port Trust. At LUMS, he was part of AIESEC and LUMS Literary Society. Husain is currently studying in the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s department of political science as a doctoral student.
